Probably not the best way to do this:
Code:
<?php
// Create a canvas with a colour of peachpuff, drawing the rectangle filled lightblue
// add a 10pixel black border, turning the light blue center transparent.
exec("convert -size 650x150 xc:PeachPuff -fill LightBlue -stroke black -strokewidth 10 -draw \"roundRectangle 6,6 627,130 20,20\" -transparent LightBlue mask.png");

// Overlaying the mask made above over the photo
exec("convert imagemagick/original_images/albir.jpg mask.png -geometry +0+0 -composite temp.png");

// Converting the peachpuff canvas to transparent.
exec("convert temp.png -transparent PeachPuff -trim round_border.gif");

unlink'mask.png' );
unlink'temp.png' );
?>

All I can sugest is try using a filter when resizing or change the density.

Sellecting a different filter worked well for someone else I spoke to.

Panoramas are harder to get right than you think. I have given a couple a go from my last holiday and some comments are:
1/ Make sure you have plenty of space around your final image.
2/ Take plenty of photos; you may not need them all but they can help you match up the photos correctly.
3/ Panoramas of a horizon tend to distort due to the lens or just the curvature of the horizon ?

Here I resized the photos first ( to cut down on the process time ). Rotated the images ( you will get white triangles left with the rotate comand ). Resized some of the images as they need stretching when rotated. Ordered and placed the images. Cropped and resized the final image to remove the white areas.

A curved horizon:

The code that produced the images below:
Code:
<?php
// Original image manipulation
exec("convert 17.jpg -resize x380 -rotate \"-6\" 17.png ");
exec("convert 16.jpg -resize 500x500 16.png ");
exec("convert 15.jpg -resize x370 15.png ");
exec("convert 14.jpg -resize x365 14.png ");
// Combining the images
exec("convert -size 1700x500 xc:white 17.png -geometry +0+0 -composite 16.png -geometry +395-19 -composite 15.png -geometry +780-35 -composite 14.png -geometry +1130-82 -composite panorama11.jpg");
//Cropping and resizing the final image
exec("convert panorama11.jpg -crop 1220x269+300+15 panorama12.jpg");
?>

A better panorama uncropped to show the photos:

I do not know anything about Magicwand for php or psd files. I was going to suggest you had a look on the ImageMagick forum but see you have already been there.

I know what you mean in the couple of tests I tried with psd files I noticed the same problem. psd files seem to be a problem as I always get an extra layer I do not want. From memory the best results I had was merging the layers before uploading.

The only thing I can see that you may be able to adapt is in this post on the IM forums. http://redux.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6158&hilit=canvas+size

I hope you get this sorted.

Anthony
